Our nonprofit is dedicated to fostering personal growth, teamwork, and creative expression. We aim to provide the community with resources, mentorship, and support to help young people develop their talents, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Spencer Burford
Founder and CEO

Spencer Burford, a proud San Antonio native, is the visionary founder of One Love Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to providing youth and young adults in the community with opportunities to excel in sports and entertainment endeavors. Driven by his own experiences and passions, Spencer’s commitment to empowering the next generation is deeply rooted in his personal journey and achievements.

Growing up in San Antonio, Spencer distinguished himself as a star athlete with a remarkable football career. His exceptional talent on the field earned him recognition and respect, leading to a successful collegiate and professional football career. However, Spencer’s interests extended beyond sports; he also harbored a deep passion for music, particularly as a drummer.

Despite his dual interests, Spencer’s focus ultimately shifted to his football career, as he was not afforded the opportunity to explore both avenues simultaneously. This personal experience fueled his desire to create a platform where young individuals can pursue their dreams in both sports and entertainment without having to choose one over the other.

Spencer’s reputation in San Antonio is a testament to his dedication and success. His achievements in football have made him a well-known figure in the city, and his return to the community as a philanthropist and mentor highlights his commitment to giving back. When given the opportunity, he continues to visit with his past educators and students at the campuses he attended within Judson ISD. Through One Love, Spencer is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for youth to explore their passions and reach their full potential.

Buretta Burford
Vice President

As the Vice President of Operations at the One Love Foundation, Burretta Burford plays a crucial role in driving the organization’s mission to support and empower youth with interests in entertainment and sports. She brings a wealth of experience in operational management and strategic planning, ensuring that the foundation’s programs run smoothly and effectively.

Burretta Burford is a collaborative leader who fosters a culture of teamwork and innovation within the foundation. She works closely with other senior leaders and staff members to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the foundation’s mission and values. Her approach to leadership emphasizes transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement as the organization grows. She is a vital asset to the One Love Foundation, ensuring that every operational aspect supports the foundation’s goals and mission.

De'Rick Hendry
Public Relations

De’Rick Hendry serves as the Public Relations Specialist for the One Love Foundation, where he leverages his extensive expertise in music and entertainment to enhance the foundation’s visibility and engagement. With a strong background in audio production and a deep understanding of the entertainment industry, De’Rick is instrumental in shaping the foundation’s public image and building strategic relationships.

De’Rick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Production from Full Sail University, where he developed a solid foundation in the technical and creative aspects of the industry. Currently, he is advancing his expertise by pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Relations from the same institution.

As the owner of Drum Music, De’Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role at the One Love Foundation. His background has equipped him with valuable insights into media relations, brand management, and strategic communication. This unique perspective allows him to effectively craft and deliver compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

In his role at One Love Foundation, De’Rick is responsible for developing and executing public relations strategies that promote the foundation’s mission and initiatives. He excels in media outreach, crafting press materials, and coordinating events that enhance the foundation’s presence and impact within the San Antonio community. His ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media professionals and community stakeholders is a key asset to the foundation’s success.

De’Rick is passionate about using his skills to support the foundation’s work with youth and he is dedicated to raising awareness and fostering a positive image for the foundation, ensuring that its message reaches those who can benefit most from its programs.
